The post name is not casual. Today we shall talk about dialogue mode, i.e. about the feature thanks to which Clone Remover has reached such popularity among PC users.
The dialogue mode is such mode of the program at which user’s work with the program is formed on the basis of joint dialogue in which the user sets “questions” and the program “answers” them. Desirable performance of those or other commands are the “questions”, their performance or offers on performance are the “answers”.
From this point of view, some notice, all programs can be considered to be dialogue, after all their work with the user, they speak, is formed on similar principles. I’d disagree with such opinion. Usually it’s a program which has “force”. To find the necessary command or to execute any function it is necessary to spend a lot of time and nerves. Especially if it is about the software titans having a multifunctional purpose.
“Dialogue” programs are much closer to the user. They do not force him to run in search of necessary commands or options. They build system of command management in such order and with such structure which would be most convenient and obvious to the user. As a result of the management the menu turns to the user-focused navigation working by a principle of interactivity and associativity. The program as though knows what is your following step (it is deduced associatively, from the logic of your search) and suggests to make it in advance. As a result the program work comes nearer to the user so that it is possible to speak about their joint (or dialogue) work.
In Clone Remover the dialogue interactive mode is realized in the form of tree-like structure which assumes various variants of the choice of this or that action. For example, if you wish to remove duplicate files you choose one option; if to open the list of duplicates from a file you choose another, etc. On each step you will accompany the possibility of alternative choice from set of kinds of activity in the chosen direction so the navigation in the program for each user will be individual.
