Directory Size and its four windows
Probably you have already noticed the unusual structure of Directory Size – four windows consistently connected with each other and giving the information that is necessary for disk space analysis. Moving clockwise on these windows you can receive the necessary information. We’ll begin with the first window – at the left below.
In this window there is a general information of disk space distribution – the size of the drives and a free space in gigabytes and percents.
The second window located above is a preparatory basis for the disk space analysis. With its help you can choose a necessary directory for search (Scan folder), and this can be both an usual folder and a drive. In this window there is also tree of folders which represents all folders entering into the chosen directory, with the size of the next level folders. Having pressed a “plus” you receive the information on these folders (of course if they present). Thus, this window models the functions of your conductor for the disk space allowing to receive information about all folders in the chosen directory, their size, structure, etc.
The third window clears up the previous one. While the second represents the information on the folders this is about all the files included into the chosen folder. Besides it is a central program window, as it is it in which the basic information is presented on your disk space. In this window you receive the information on files, their size (in percents and bytes – kilobytes, megabytes or gigabytes depending on your choice) as well as files and folders of the next level. The powerful program analytical tool will allow to process and analyze the information how you’d like: to filter (for example, by extension or size); to sort by extension, size or creation date; to create lists of “best” - for example, 100 greatest files. Special options will allow displaying all files including from subfolders by certain criterion.
The last window serves for the visualization of the received results. In this you can receive the evident information on disk space distribution between files both in a bar and a pie. Here you can choose the gradient scheme of the background and the graphics.
