Directory Size - hard disk space analyzer: why do I like Directory Size?
Why do I like Directory Size? I don’t know what about you, but I like this program for conveniently organized interface first of all. Look as the interface of the hard disk space analyzer: there are no difficult menu panels stirring to work which studying will kill all desire to work with the program. The interface is interactive and clear even to the novice user. It is reached, in my opinion, at the expense of several reasons.
Firstly, Directory Size is the program working by the principle of several windows: the basic actions are concentrated in four windows in which you can analyze structure of any directory. By the way, the directory should not be kept in traditional folders necessarily: it is possible to analyze contents and archives, and also network drives. In one windows you receive results of the analysis “abstractly” - in words and figures, in other ones - visually, in the form of schedules and drawings. All windows are among themselves interconnected and subordinated to the primary goal decision.
Secondly, Directory Size organically combines the interactive interface mode and both standard toolbars and the menu panel. Thanks to it the user always knows, for what this or that element of the interface is used. For example, in the windows there are basic manipulations to figures and images, and the panels allow to operate this process.
Thirdly, toolbars and the menu panels as I already spoke are extremely simple and accessible even to the novice user. So, all most basic options without which the work of any serious program and furthermore hard disk space analyzer is impossible are presented in the menu panels. They are “Kind”, “Help”, “Scan” (it carries out the role of start-up for the hard disk space analyzer - it is similar to the menu “File” in other programs), as well as “Report” which allows to change options to submit data in a convenient kind (it is similar to the “Settings” option).
Drawings on the panel tools are extremely clear therefore it is impossible to be mistaken in the function of each option. By the way, not so long ago they have passed upgrade so now the work with the program became even more comfortable.
There is one more circumstance which is pleasant to me in the program interface. It is pleasant to me. This circumstance is impossible to explain. This absolutely intuitive feeling reminding to intuition. I hope, interface Directory Size is pleasant to you too J.
