How to analyze PC software
How to analyze pc software? And whether it is possible to make it manually?
Obviously, no. The computer is such a difficult system that only the usage of special software allows to receive a high-grade complex picture of disk space usage, to find and reveal weak places of such usage, to define structures, disk space distribution, folders and files, their relative positioning, the size, the share at the rate of folders of higher level. We will talk about one of the effective tool, about qualitative how to analyze pc software –Directory Size.
Directory Size is a small utility from Moleskinsoft which allows and to analyze disk space quickly effectively using powerful analytical device. The program consists of four small windows carrying out specific functions under the data analysis. We will consider each of these windows shortly.
The top left window. This is the window to choose the directories for the analysis. The user can find in this window the folder tree including suitable folder or disk which maintenance he’d like to analyze. The choice is carried out by the means of option “Scan” on the tool panel. By means of this menu it’s possible to choose such options as «Scan noted disk» and «Scan a folder». As a result of scanning the program gives out results in the form of the folder tree in which you can choose a necessary directory.
The top right window. This window is for the data analysis. The window is used for performance of the basic function of how to analyze pc software – for the data analysis. After you have chosen the directory for the analysis, your following problem is to define how you will analyze this directory, what means to use, and what information to receive.
In the window the files and folders included in the directory chosen for the analysis are presented. Besides the data about files and folders, in the window you can receive the information on their size, the dale at the rate of folders of higher level, quantity, creation date, the file owner etc. Besides, the program allows organizing an arrangement of files by such a criteria as extension, the owner and the size.
The bottom right window allows receiving evident representation about your disk space distribution on the pc. Such means, as pies and bars are used for this purpose. In Directory Size you can change color of the background and the gradient.
The bottom left window gives the information on current disk space distribution.
