Hard disk visual maps
Program Directory Size belongs to that number of unique programs about which it is possible to tell «it’s great».
Directory Size is the universal analyzer of disk PC space which allows to receive the detailed information of current disk condition, space distribution between folders, the structure of folders and files on the disk, etc. Besides, the program gives unique possibilities in the area of hard disk visual maps.
Directory Size works by the structural-functional principle: all actions are spent in the special windows each of which carries out a certain role or function. The set of these functions leads to some result – the ultimate goal of the program work.
Let’s consider shortly the work of these windows.
The first window - bottom left one – allows to receive the general representation about the current condition of disk space, hard disk distribution between logic disks – for example, disks C and D. Thanks to this window the user receives the first representation about the state of affairs on the disk, about the current problems, the features of disk space usage.
The second window – top left one - is the window of directory choice or the folder for the analysis. The window represents the tree of the folders organized in the form of structure. Thanks to this window the user specifies analysis area, chooses what he wants to research, receives the first representation about structural interrelations of various folders (for example, their submission).
In the third window – top right one – the user of the hard disk visual maps program has an opportunity to analyze the current condition of the chosen folder more in detail that is:
1. To define structural interrelations of the analyzed folder with its environment and the internal content, that is folders and files.
2. To define the quantity of folders and files included in the analyzed folder.
3. To receive the information of the volume of the analyzed folder and the elements included in its structure (folders and files).
4. To reveal the share of elements of the folder in its general size.
The fourth window allows to visualize the content of the previous window. With the help of hard disk visual maps created by this window the user can receive visual representation about the analyzed directory, to build colorful pies and bars, etc.
