Directory chart analyze tool
The program about which we’ll talk today is rather a new and little-known in the market. Nevertheless the possibilities it gives to users are so wide that every PC user should know the program.
Get acquainted – Directory Size, the program which will allow you to receive a full picture of the condition of your disk space, distribution of folder structure, as well as the structure of files and folders PC has.
Program Directory Size is created specially for the professional analysis of PC disk space structure. Disk analysis, file search, definition of structure are entered in program’s tasks.
Why is the disk analysis necessary? There are a lot of reasons. For example, to optimize structure and arrangement of files and directories on the PC, to find out what files and how they connected among themselves, their size, share in directories of higher level, etc.
Let’s consider work of this program in more details on the example of certain directory.
For example, you want to analyze structure, content and the structural place of directory (folder) Music. You keep all music you listen on the computer in this folder. To scan this directory start program Directory Size and choose option «Scan – Scan a folder». In the appeared window choose folder Music through the tree of folders and press OK. The program will automatically scan the folder.
In the top left window choose appeared folder Music. As you can see in this window of the directory chart analyze tool you can receive all structure of the directory consisting of different folders (for example, divided by a genre – Rock music, Pop music, Jazz etc., divided by artist, years, etc.) by means of tree of folders. If you choose these folders in the next window you’ll see detailed structure and the content of the chosen folders which include the folders and the files included in the structure of the given folder. Besides, in the left top window you can also receive representation about the size of this or that folder in megabytes.
In the top right window as we’ve told you can see what files and folders are included in the structure of the chosen folders (about it look above). Besides, you receive detailed representation about the size of files and folders. For example, in megabytes (or bytes, kilobytes, gigabytes - it depends on what unit of measure you’ve chosen on the top menu panel of the program). Or in percentage of the size of the directory which includes a considered file. Besides, opposite to folders you will see how many folders and files are included in its structure.
In the bottom window of the directory chart analyze tool you receive evident representation about the investigated directory. By means of pie and bar you learn what is the share of this or that file (directory) in the investigated directory. In this program window you can change color of the schedule, a background, keep the received result in a special file, to change the kind of the schedule and many other things.
Using the directory chart analyze tool you will forever forget about the problem of disk usage, its optimization and an arrangement.
