Why is it important to have a disk cleaner?
To answer this question let’s look at such difficult system as a computer. What does it include? As a rule, folders and files as well as various services facilitating works with folders and files. As any system a computer has not only functional but also dysfunctional elements. They are created during PC work with some programs, Internet etc. Unlike functional ones they don’t help the computer. At the best they do nothing (occupying disk space), in the worst – they hinder. Not to be furnished without proofs I will result examples of such dysfunctional elements.
Junk files. It is an usual dust created by some programs. As a rule, they have DOC and TMP extensions. It is not simple to find and remove junk files without software.
Duplicate files. They are identical copies of files which has already occupied your disk space. It is not also simple to remove duplicate files. Besides, unlike junk files which size usually varies in limits of kilobytes, duplicate files can have megabytes’ or even gigabytes’ size. Of course it reduces efficiency of drive usage.
Temp Internet files. The files are created in an operating time in Internet and display files remained in cash in the case if you want to return to some web-pages. Usually these files are stored in such folders as Temporary Internet files, Cookies, History, etc.
Temp system files. The given kind is created by system programs for their work in the system. However these files are not frequently used by the system and remain superfluous loading on the PC disk.
Incorrect shortcuts. Probably you’ve already faced the phrase «sorry the file X isn’t found». This phrase is an obvious sign that you wish to start the incorrect shortcut. As you guess they are labels which specify in nonexistent files (or the files moved to other place). Despite their small size they litter disk space, complicate hard-drive work and make navigation in system inconvenient.
