We’ve approached to the most responsible moment in our travel: we must decide what duplicate files to save and what ones to remove from HDD. At this stage it’s also important not to remove all them casually . For these purposes the system of labels which is on the page of the found duplicates is created. We’ll get acquainted with it closer.

So in the top window part a panel of control for the received results is located. We’ll discern the buttons (from left to right). The button “to execute” starts the chosen duplicate files on performance. Buttons “to check” and «to check copies» marks the found duplicate files - one or all copies. The command «to check automatically» sets an automatic mark of the found duplicate files with certain attributes: criteria, catalogue (that is location) and type (extension). Due to the option the files satisfying to command parameters will be automatically checked at finding as duplicate files.

The attribute “criteria” includes dates of creation and change and also files size. Now filter is accessible. Due to it you can choose the folders (in which duplicate files are) or extensions which the program won’t allocate at automatic allocation. For example if you have searched for duplicate files in a folder with music and in a folder with term files but you want to check duplicate files only in the folder with music it is enough to mark «to not check files from the next folders» on “catalogues” of the filter.

The next two commands are «to check all» and «to remove marks» set and remove marks for all found duplicate files. Remember the program shows both unique files and their copies as results. Therefore check only copies differently you risk to lose original files.

The command «to invert marks» changes a mark condition. If a file (group of files) is marked use the button «to invert marks» to remove marks and on the contrary. The last command «to keep search results» saves the duplicate file search results as a separate MRS file. We’ll remind you could open it in the choice of one of the options at the Clone Remover start.

Hi! We continue again our travel in the Clone Remover world. As you have guessed, today we will in detail talk about the choice of locations including duplicate files. The given phase is the last one thanks to which we filter our search options. Further we’ll deal with the search results.

So, you get to a new window, in which you can choose the location of any level. It is enough to pass on root folders, find necessary directories and check them. Exactly in the locations the duplicate files search will be carried out. Higher level directory you choose automatically means the search in all lower level directories.

Besides the search in “open” directories you can search for duplicate files in RAR and ZIP archives. It will slow down the search but will allow receiving more exact picture of affair state on your PC. By the way, the separate opportunity of Clone Remover is the installation of a network disk. The command will allow you to execute connection to the common network folder and to appoint for it a disk letter o for the further manipulation through «My computer». Thus duplicate files search now became possible on network folders.

So, all simple: you choose a directory and press “Further”. And our guide has already prepared a blade and obviously wishes to work a little. Let’s give him such possibility.

The search won’t occupy much time. All depends on the speed of your computer and the size of the search directory. Today we’ll continue our travel on Clone Remover and we’ll get acquainted closer with some important options of the program.

As we’ve already spoken, the base option on the greeting page is «find duplicate files». The option allows receiving the fullest representation about the program functionalities therefore let’s get acquainted to it closer.

Having pressed on the button you’ll get in a new program window which is to help you to define the type of duplicate file which you’re going to find and delete. In the program there are five ones:

Complete duplicate files;

Similar images;

Music files with similar tags;

Files with similar names and size;

Empty files.

Certainly, before to continue our further travel, we’ll consider these types more in detail.

«Complete duplicate files» is an option which allows to search for files with the identical contents. Having chosen the option you receive the guarantee of that files found on your PC are absolutely identical under the contents, size, name, etc. The option allows finding absolutely identical file duplicates.

The next one, «Similar images», is an option that helps to search for duplicate files among pictures and photos with the identical image but the various size and the name.

«Music files with similar tags». Thanks to this option the duplicates’ search is carried out on musical files with similar names of songs and artists. “Parameters” under the option allows to choose the level of the required concurrence for headings and file names. Further you can return again to the option having chosen smaller level of tag similarity for search of other musical duplicate files. The below similarity level is the more search area and the lower probability of file concurrences are.

«Files with similar names and size». This option is called to select files with identical size and name for search. It is necessary to remember that the option does not guarantee the identical files contents therefore it is recommended to check up duplicate files manually before their removal.

The last option, «Empty files», allows to search for files with zero size.

In the window “filter” is accessible due to which you can sort the chosen file types by mask (i.e. extension), size, date and attributes. It allows speeding up duplicate files search but lowers the search area.

The post name is not casual. Today we’ll travel under Clone Remover, open unknown islands which can draw attention of lonely traveler (i.e. user). Our guide is a cheerful and an amusing moleskin whom you can see in the top left corner of the program. He will help us.

We’ll begin our travel with the greeting page. Our guide welcomes us: «Welcome! To start the process of finding and deleting duplicate files select one of the actions and click “Next”». Let’s follow to the council and choose one of the options. There are three ones in the program: to find duplicate files, to open the duplicate files list from a file and to restore files moved to a separate folder earlier. For the first time let’s look how the last two options work. The first option is key one, with it we’ll work further that’s why it’s better to understand how two others work at first.

The button «open the duplicate files list from a file» is intended for opening a file in which PC clones search results have prematurely been kept. It is obvious the option should be opened only if you’ve already started Clone Remover and kept the search results in the corresponding file (about which - ahead). Having chosen the option press “Further” after that the program will suggest you to choose a file on hard disk with MRS extension. All you need to do is to choose such file and load it on the computer.

The next button is intended for the same purpose but you need to choose not a file but a folder. That one in which you’ve already removed duplicate files. It is obvious that you should use this button only if you’ve worked with Clone Remover.

Our moleskin reminds us we’ve forgotten to tell about the program settings. Sorry, friend! Certainly, on the main page, besides three options there are the program settings. “Settings” allows choosing languages, work parameters with system tray and animation.

Probably you have already noticed the unusual structure of Directory Size – four windows consistently connected with each other and giving the information that is necessary for disk space analysis. Moving clockwise on these windows you can receive the necessary information. We’ll begin with the first window – at the left below.

In this window there is a general information of disk space distribution – the size of the drives and a free space in gigabytes and percents.

The second window located above is a preparatory basis for the disk space analysis. With its help you can choose a necessary directory for search (Scan folder), and this can be both an usual folder and a drive. In this window there is also tree of folders which represents all folders entering into the chosen directory, with the size of the next level folders. Having pressed a “plus” you receive the information on these folders (of course if they present). Thus, this window models the functions of your conductor for the disk space allowing to receive information about all folders in the chosen directory, their size, structure, etc.

The third window clears up the previous one. While the second represents the information on the folders this is about all the files included into the chosen folder. Besides it is a central program window, as it is it in which the basic information is presented on your disk space. In this window you receive the information on files, their size (in percents and bytes – kilobytes, megabytes or gigabytes depending on your choice) as well as files and folders of the next level. The powerful program analytical tool will allow to process and analyze the information how you’d like: to filter (for example, by extension or size); to sort by extension, size or creation date; to create lists of “best” - for example, 100 greatest files. Special options will allow displaying all files including from subfolders by certain criterion.

The last window serves for the visualization of the received results. In this you can receive the evident information on disk space distribution between files both in a bar and a pie. Here you can choose the gradient scheme of the background and the graphics.
