I continue to tell about how to work with Clone Remover. Today I’ll tell about how to remove and find duplicate files.

17. Having chosen a search directory press on “further”. In a new window the program will offer you the list of the found duplicate files.

18. In the top window part a panel of control for the received results is located. We’ll discern the buttons (from left to right). The button “to execute” starts the chosen duplicate files on performance. Buttons “to check” and «to check copies» marks the found duplicate files - one or all copies. The command «to check automatically» sets an automatic mark of the found duplicate files with certain attributes: criteria, catalogue (that is location) and type (extension). Due to the option the files satisfying to command parameters will be automatically checked at finding as duplicate files.

19. The attribute “criteria” includes dates of creation and change and also files size. Now filter is accessible. Due to it you can choose the folders (in which duplicate files are) or extensions which the program won’t allocate at automatic allocation. For example if you have searched for duplicate files in a folder with music and in a folder with term files but you want to check duplicate files only in the folder with music it is enough to mark «to not check files from the next folders» on “catalogues” of the filter.

20. The next two commands are «to check all» and «to remove marks» set and remove marks for all found duplicate files. Remember the program shows both unique files and their copies as results. Therefore check only copies differently you risk to lose original files.

21. The command «to invert marks» carries out function of change of a mark condition. If a file (group of files) is marked use the button «to invert marks» to remove marks and on the contrary. Last command «to keep search results» keeps duplicate files search results as a separate mrs-file. We’ll remind you could open it at a choice of one of options at Clone Remover start.

22. Why is it so important to check duplicate files? As what you’ll do with some of them or not depends on marks. But press on “further” and start a choice of the further actions with the chosen duplicate files.

23. Program Clone Remover offers 4 variants of actions. The command “to delete” completely removes duplicate files from a PC. The command «to move to the Recycle Bin» transfers duplicate files to a recycle bin from where they can be again taken as soon as possible. Button “to move” will allow keeping duplicate files on a disk having moved them in a separate catalogue. All you need is to choose the special folder which doesn’t contain subdirectories and files or to create it. And then to keep duplicate files in it. Button “to copy” speaks for itself.

24. Be cautious at the choice of way of actions with duplicate files. Files removal can force to regret you in the future if you’ll need the file. There’s a risk with duplicate files removal a recycle bin as its size is limited by Windows. If the limit is exhausted at the choice of the option «to remove to a recycle bin» you risk losing a file for ever. However the command “to move” also has the lacks. Especially if the question is about large files. In the case you don’t reduce the common hard disk space. Besides it is necessary to choose a special folder for moving differently you risk getting confused.

In the last part I described base functions of Clone Remover you face when start the program. In this part I’ll tell about some functions more in detail. I remind Clone Remover works with 5 duplicate file types: complete duplicate files, similar images, music files with similar tags, files with similar names and size and empty files.

7. «Complete duplicate files» is an option which will allow searching for files with the identical contents. Having chosen the option you receive the guarantee that files found on your PC are absolutely identical under the contents, size, name, etc. The option allows finding absolutely identical files copies.

8. «Similar images» is an option that will help you to search for duplicate files among pictures and photos with the identical image but the various size and name.

9. «Music files with similar tags». Apparently from the name the search is carried out on musical files with similar names of songs and artists. “Parameters” under the option will allow you to choose the level of required concurrence for headings and files names. Further you can return again to the option having chosen smaller level of tag similarity for search of other musical duplicate files. The below similarity level the more search area and the lower probability of file concurrences.

10. «Files with similar names and size». The task of the option is to select files with identical size and name for search. It is necessary to remember that the option doesn’t guarantee the identical files contents therefore it is recommended to check up duplicate files manually before their removal.

11. «Empty files» will allow you to search for files with zero size.

12. In the window “filter” is accessible due to which you can sort the chosen file types on a mask (that is extension), size, date and attributes. It will allow speeding up duplicate files search but will lower search area.

13. Having chosen necessary search options and having set the filter press on “further”. Your task is to choose a search location now.

14. In the new window you can choose a location of any level and site. It is enough to pass on root folders, find necessary directories and check them. Exactly in the locations duplicate files search will be carried out. The higher level directory choice automatically means search in all lower level directories.

15. Besides search in “open” directories you can search for duplicate files in rar and zip archives. It will slow down the search but will allow to receive more exact picture of affair state on your PC.

16. Separate opportunity of Clone Remover is an installation of a network disk. The command will allow you to execute connection to the common network folder and to appoint for it a disk letter o for the further manipulation through «My computer». Thus duplicate files search now became possible on network folders.

I’m often asked why one thing works and other doesn’t work, how some options operate and why it is impossible to make something else. Certainly it is impossible to answer all the questions as it is necessary to know peculiarities of your software and hardware recourses. But I will try to answer a lot of your questions and systematize some knowledge on CR in this help-file.

1. Start Clone Remover. In the small window you’ll greeted by amusing moleskin which will offer 3 variants of work with duplicate files for choice:

· To find duplicate files;

· To open the duplicate files list from a file;

· To restore files moved to a separate folder earlier .

2. For the first time we’ll look how the last two options work. The button «open the duplicate files list from a file» is intended for opening a file in which duplicate files search results have prematurely been kept. It is obvious the option should be opened only if you have already started Clone Remover. Having chosen the option press “Further” then the program will suggest you to choose a file on hard disk with MRS extension.

3. The «to restore the files earlier moved to a separate folder» button is intended for the same purpose only you need to choose not a file but a folder. In what you have already removed duplicate files.

4. Besides choice options of operating mode with Clone Remover you can set the program adjustments in the main window. Button “Settings” allows choosing languages, parameters of work with system tray and animation.

5. The basic option in the main program window is «to search for duplicate files». It allows receiving the fullest representation about the program functionalities therefore let’s get acquainted to it closer.

6. Having pressed on the button you’ll get in a new program window which is to help you to define duplicate files types you’re going to search and delete. In the program they are five ones:

· Complete duplicate files;

· Similar images;

· Music files with similar tags;

· Files with similar names and size;

· Empty files.
