Directory Size - disk space usage
Ask yourself how often you have to face the problem of free disk space shortage? When despite all your efforts the free disk space decreases and navigation in the system becomes more difficult.
There can be different reasons of the situation like this. One of the most widespread ones are duplicate files. But irrespective of the reasons you are before rather unpleasant choice – to delete the information which will probably useful for you in the future or to buy a new hard disk (however in some months you’ll realize that it is not a decision too). There is one more variant – the effective analysis and management of disk space usage, which treats not illness but the reason unlike first two ones.
The new program from Moleskinsoft – Directory Size – will allow carrying out effectively such analysis and management visually presenting the information on disk space usage.
The program remains to be true to Moleskinsoft “trade mark”– “simply and effectively”. You will not find “heavy” tool panels and difficult commands in it. The program follows in the interface “spirit” and “letter” of its function – more simple, structure and system. Directory Size is divided into four windows each of which carries out the task for disk space usage management.
In the left top window the result of choice of this or that directory for the analysis is displayed beginning from small folders and finishing disks. Here it is possible to see evident structure of folders (in the form of a tree) entering into an analyzed directory, with concrete sizes and structures.
The right top window allows receiving more detailed information on the chosen folder or directory. In this it is possible to see what folders and files enter into the analyzed directory, their sizes (in bytes and percent), amount of files and folders of the next level. Thanks to the filter and «Тоp100» it is possible to filter the data on extension, the size and other as well as to sort and create “ratings”.
The right bottom window is intended for visual data presentation in the form of bars and pies with percentage distribution of shares of this or that element in the chosen object. The received results of the analysis can be kept in special TXT, CSV or HTML files.
The last window (left bottom one) will be quite good statistical guide on the system in which it is always possible to learn how much empty seat in your disks is.
